The safely remove hardware icon does not show on my taskbar?
Question by ♣ This is all I am ♣: The safely remove hardware icon does not show on my taskbar?
I was charging my iPod the other day and when it was done I looked for that safely remove hardware icon on the taskbar so I can safely remove the usb wire but I can’t see it. It also happened the last time I connected my Nokia to my laptop to transfer pictures and it’s not there again! What’s wrong?
Sorry it’s system tray not taskbar/task bar! Forgot my computer monitor parts =) Sorry..

As far as your ipod goes you can do one of two things. First you can open up itunes and click on the eject ipod icon on the left and once the ipod doesn’t show up on the left side you can unplug the ipod. Also if you want you can just unplug the ipod from the cord first then unplug the USB. You should not lose anything this way.As for the Nokia you could probably right click My Computer then select Explore. If your nokia shows up there you can right click it and there should be a choice to eject that you can click on. Once you do that give it a few seconds then you should be able to disconnect it.

This happened to me at times too, but it automatically comes back.
I think the latest Nokia PC suit has bugs or its cable driver conflicts with the Window’s built-in USB drivers. This should be the root of the problem.
Switching to an older version of PC suit can be the solution.
