Q&A: How do I use my laptop to download software onto my desktop?

Question by meljoy444: How do I use my laptop to download software onto my desktop?
My desktop CD ROM is not working and I am having printer problems. I need to re-download my printer software onto my desktop. I have already downloaded the driver from the site and the hardware wizard is asking for my software when I plug in the USB cord. My printer works PERFECTLY on my laptop, but is not set up for convenience and I need to reconnect my printer to my desktop. Does anyone know how I could install the software to my desktop using the CD ROM drive on my laptop (which is brand new, state of the art). If it helps, my laptop is Vista and my desktop is XP. Thanks so much to all those who help answer!
