Sony Vaio laptop will not run on batteries?

Question by Brandon S: Sony Vaio laptop will not run on batteries?
Hello i have what seems to be a major problem with my sony vaio VGN-sz220. My computer will not either hold a charge or just will not run off the battery. I was just wondering if this could be software related or is it deinetly hardware. This Laptop is no more than 6 months old so I have a hard time believing that my batteries is fried. Thanks in advance Brandon

Try removing and reseating the battery. If that does not solve the problem contact Sony. Batteries are typically under warranty for a year. Problem is, if you bought that laptop from a retail outlet (Best Buy, example) it could have sat on the shelf for a while. With batteries it’s usually covered for a year after production.

if you use your battery regularly, it can burn out in 6 months.
