Is there any way to completely erase the hard drive and start fresh with Fedora 9 OS if the DVD drive is broken?

Probably not.
If you mean the CD ROM drive is broken, then no.
If you have both a DVD drive and a CD ROM drive, and the CD ROM drive is working, then it’ll be fine..

you can do a network install from a mirror sight or you can d/l and burn the cd’s (need 6 of them).
I use Mandriva and can do a internet install from a mirror d/l and I found it MUCCH Easier and faster than Microshaft stuff.
to do a network install. burn this file to cd or put it on a flashdrive.
