The card reader on my laptop wont read my memory stick from my camera, the card slot broke off about seven months ago but it still read my memory card.. Then it just stopped working ? everytime I try putting my memory stick on it just shuts my laptop off? anyone know how i can fix this ?

Easiest way is to get a card reader that plugs into your usb port, similar to this one ….
