Is it necessary to subscribe to a mobile company in order to surf the web with this kind of netbook?

No you will need to purchase a plan for the 3G connection. You may use Sprint, ATT, T-Mobile etc, it will cost you 30$ on average (per month)

you might have trouble if you don’t also have a computer(desktop) with a wireless connection (router) but if you have anybody near you with one of these, then you may be able to mooch off of their service without them knowing it. Don’t worry though, it won’t be any more money charged on them. If you don’t live near somebody with this, then you probably will need service with a company as well. Good Luck

Many of the netbooks with 3g modems built in can only be purchased with a qualifying data plan. Those can get fairly expensive ($60/month for a max of 5 GB), so make sure you check the fine print out before buying.
