Problem connecting a laptop to a wireless network?
Question by far: Problem connecting a laptop to a wireless network?
I have Toshiba Satelite laptop with Vista Home Enterprise. In the list of available wireless networks there is a one that says: the settings on this computer for the network doesn’t match the requirements of the network. I don’t know who is the administrator of this network but would like to connect to it. Tried to change some settings but with no luck. Any suggestions?

The wireless network connection is perhaps protected. It seems that the administrator has enabled Access Control on his/her router. This means that the Mac address listed on this access list can only connect to the network.

My best suggestion that would save you so much time is to call your internet provider. Sorry my answer is short , but I think it will help you.
This usually happens when you are connecting to a WiFi access point that has a generic name.
To completely clear the settings, you will need to “delete” the wireless network setting on your computer. To do this for the specific network follow these steps:
1) Hit your windows key and rick click on “Network” then click “Properties”
2) On the left side of the Network Properties window that just popped up, click “Manage Wireless Networks”
3) Locate the WiFi network that you are having problems with and right click it.
4) The second option down should say “Remove Network”. Click that.
5) Try reconnection to the network, if it still fails, then it’s not a problem with your system.
If this is an AP that is not yours or that you do not have permission to access, dont access it. It’s just not right.
