Question by seanvincent2000: My windows DVD player works, but when I go to play the dvd on my tv it dosent worK. How can I fix this?
I’m running a windows vista ultimate on a HP lap top. I’ve used the DVD maker several times in the past to burn my down loaded movies. Just recently I’ve been having a problem with playing my newly burnt movies on my home or portable DVD players. The DVD maker seems to be working just fine and I haven’t had any problems playing my burnt movies before. Any suggestions?

Try burning at lower speeds. computer optical drives (and computer) are less succeptable to disk read errors than other drives. Perhaps format you are burning is incompatible? What about disk type. i know my home entertainment dvd player doesn’t play +R, disks (only in divx) but does -R

If you have had that DVD drive for a long time, there may come a time when it simply has undergone so much use that it becomes worn out. Hence, the ability to burn with accuracy is diminished to a great degree.
If possible, find another DVD burner, and repeat what you have done with the current drive. If the problem appears to disappear, you may have your answer.
