does the computer freeze or just the mouse?

if just the mouse, just go out and buy a cheap usb mouse and plug it in, problem solved

if the computer freezes…we need more details (such as computer specs and what you were doing when it froze) before we can diagnose it

try going to the HP website and downloading the drivers for the touchpad. Install those and see if it helps. The next thing would be to disable the touch pad in control panel and use a mouse. You can pick up a wireless USB mouse pretty cheap just about anywhere.

I have the same prob with my HP note book..

So i just did alot of things to it.. disk clean up.. defragment.. delete some stuff.. system restore.. at least it does not freeze up any more.
