How do I get rid of my broken laptop?

broken laptop

Question by marissaa:)): How do I get rid of my broken laptop?
I have a broken laptop, the whole screen is pretty much useless. However, I didn’t think it’s right to just toss it in the garbage, so what do I do?
Can I find a place where they recycle old computers?
I also have a home computer that works, the pc just needs a little fixing but the monitor works great.
Can I sell the second one? If so, where?
Thanks in advance!
I don’t need a new computer, I have one. I just needed to know how to get rid of the ones not in use.

Craigslist for both. People look for broken laptops and older pc’s. You might be able to donate the old pc too.

Did you try hooking your broken latop to your monitor?
    I know I don’t answer your question.

On eBay, people sell all the laptop parts separately – they take the unit apart and sell the fans, the keyboard, the main circuit board, the pieces of plastic, the covers, the springs, the battery, the LCD frame, the LCD circuitboard, etc all separately – other people have the same laptop as you but have a key missing on the keyboard, or the floppy or the CD does not work, etc. so somewhere there is a person looking for the parts, including the case plastic pieces…
    give it a try!
