Q&A: I just brought a new linksys router. Do i connect the new software to my desktop or my laptop?

i put the cd in my computer and followed all the directions clearly but my computer isnt reading the router for some reason. im quite sure i did everything rite. PLEASE HELP

You should connect it to your desktop because your laptop will probably have wireless and you wont need to connect it directly. Just make sure that you have the proper cables in the proper ports on your router and computer tower. Good luck.

    Open your internet explorer/firefox and type http://192.168.1.1
    default password and username would admin/admin
    You may either adjust settings in there, or reset the router, and try to run the setup from a different computer, or try to hook it up to an ethernet cable, then run the setup cd.
