Yeah just plug it into your modem (router, cable modem, etc) and download them onto your computer first.

    Usually you can install anything without the software. When you plug it in, if XP/Vista doesn’t automatically install the best drivers it has for you it should ask for a disc or if it can search the web for the best drivers. Put in the disc and tell it to search there for drivers. If none are found, tell it to search the web for drivers. If none are still found, usually you can go to http://windowsupdate.microsoft.com (the place you go to patch your system with the latest security updates and such) and that will detect the hardware and provide the best drivers it has. The only thing about windows update is that the drivers are not always as up to date as they would be from the manufacturer.
