Laptop hard drives, especially Dell laptops, are extremely difficult to replace. They may try to charge you a lot for “labor”. The price depends on the size, type, and speed of the hard drive you’re looking for.

Not very difficult at all to change a laptop hard drive – that is ten minute job. The big question is if you have the media (DVD, CD) to reinstall the operating system. That will take the most time plus installation of any third party software, updates, etc. You can get a new hard drive for around $ 50 and the labor should be somewhere around $ 100.
