Hey,

It matters if you want free anti-virus or paid for anti virus. The difference can be from a simple few extra features to a whole new perspective of things.

For free anti-virus I would advise the following:
-Avast! Antivirus
this one is one of the best. You can download this from:

http://www.avast.com/eng/avast_4_home.html

(You should register and they will send you a license key)

-Avira Anti-vir:
you can download this from:

http://www.free-av.com/

-AVG Free edition:
you can download this from:

http://free.avg.com/

For Paid versions I would advise:
-Kaspersky
-Bit Defender
-Norton 2009 (they fixed many problems from previous versions
-GData
-Avast, AVG, Avira paid versions
There are many more, just Google there are a whole selection out there. make sure you don’t download a fake anti-virus like Antiviruis 2009. The scam you into buying a product then steal your identity while infecting you computer.

Also if your afraid you might already have a virus download:
Malwarebytes’ Anti-Malware trail, it practaly kills any virus you have.
This can be downloaded from:

Have fun!

These AV`s are all free and good. I prefer AVG, been using it for 3 years with no problem.
