the virus has corrupted my control panel… when i go to folder options i m not able to change any thing. like take for eg. i cant view hidden folders.. even if i change it and apply the changes it goes back to previous one… please help me out..i m having mc afee antivirus

It’s a Trojan and you can remove it by Trojan remover !

Don’t worry install Trojan remover and let it do the rest…
Update it and scan the whole computer with this & it will prompt you for a action then select “The option of stopping and renaming (which is the Recommended option)” .

any anti trojan will help
That sound familiar to what i used to have on my computer. if you can specifically remember when your p.c started reacting like this then you much restore it to the date before. go to all programs–>accessories–>system tools –> then click “system restore” a simple restore wizard will run guiding you how to restore your computer. after restoration. update your ant-virus and get the latest definitions to get rid of this Trojan horse. the reason why i want you to restore is that after restoration your folder option will come back again. if you don’t restore, but you’re able to get rid of these viruses, your folder options will not come back cause your windows is damaged. so do the restoration first then the anti-virus
hack into the main frame and delete the matrex accerator thingy that will make it better
Usually anti virus only remove the infected file(s) but not repair damage from virus activities. In some cases the best solution is clean install the infected system with following guidelines:
1. Move all remain documents files from drive C: (favorite drive to install operating system) to another drive.
2. Insert Windows CD installation and restart.
3. It’s like to install for the first time. Follow the guides appear on screen. When choosing partition, delete partition c first then create new partition on same partition selection. Be careful doing this part, maybe you need call local computer store to assist.
4. Do install windows, drivers as normal ways.
5. Install anti virus and run full scan before another application.

avg free and powerful and try not to watch too much online videos on badsites also dont download every thing u see. and if u do before u open it scan it for virus
put your screen in a bin and fry the rest of it up for brekafast
