Toshiba A135-S4467 laptop does not power on?

Question by Homeowner_ne: Toshiba A135-S4467 laptop does not power on?
Hi

Laptop was working fine today AM. I tried to reboot in afternoon and noticed that battery light was not orange when connected to A/C adapter. Also pressing the start button turns on the laptop for 1-2 seconds and then turns itself off.

Afaik, nothing was spilled on the laptop but dont know for sure since I had guests in the house.

I am under CircuitCitys extended coverage so plan to send in the laptop for repair. Is there anything I can try out at home before I send the laptop?

I do plan to try to retrieve data from the HDD in case the repair folks re-format it or worse.

Thanks in advance

I would suggest pulling the battery out and disconnecting the power cord, then holding down your on/off switch for about 60 seconds, then replacing the cord and battery, and trying again. sometimes you have to do a hard restart.

Nope toshiba are known for their power failures..I once wasted a fortune on new power supplies and batteries (no warranty) for a toshiba, and the amount of people who had the same problem (looking online for help) was staggerring..

Don’t do anything.(or give them a excuse). just take it back.

You couldd make sure that the battery pack is in the right way, or if something got stuck inside

all the laptop batteries have fuse and a button of temperature control. the battery board has a IC fuse and the cell has a fuse. check out all these things. board not easy to broken, but the fuse is broken when the temperature over 80 then has no output, check the fuse, if it OK. then you check then temperature button, if this has some thing wrong, the board will think the cell and board are too hot. in order to protect itself then has no output.
