my laptop is typing a paragraph on its own. first you’ll see 5 to 8 period then the period became a word then suddenly became a paragraph….., help guys!!!!!!
I’m planning to format my laptop because of this insidence…

does it type like that in word or notepad? what if you don’t have either of them open? does it contain any letters or is it just …… …. …… …………. ………………. ……. like that??
if its just periods and spaces then the problem might be with your keypad. if that is the case then you should have the problem everywhere, email, im, notepad, word etc etc.. and even when u dont have anything open.
try to isolate the problem. is it hardware related or non hardware related. if it is not hardware related then try changing your anti-virus program.
Not all problems that crop up are Virus’s.
There is another class of nasties called SPYWARE and your anti virus program will not detect them.
You also need an anti-spyware program
Spybot search and destroy.

You can also keep some programs from starting by clicking on START then on RUN and type MSCONFIG in the text box and click OK.
Go to the STARTUP TAB and Untic everything except your security programs. then click ok and reboot the pc.
Do you have Vista (which has this feature built-in) or an Voice-To-Text program enabled ?
What is being typed? If it’s just a string of random characters, it’s probably something wrong with your hardware. If it’s actual words, it’s probably spyware. But since you haven’t given us enough information, it’s impossible to properly diagnose the problem.
My daughters came running donwstairs last night yelling the computer was possesed and was typing by itself as well, full words not gibbersish and the same a number of periods and then a word appears. I have an unsecured wireless network running but couldn’t see how anyone could be seeing my desktop much less typing away. I have Norton Internet Security running and thought Spyware Doctor was running as well but will run Spyware Doctor again.
First thing tonight will be to run Spyware Doctor again.
