This means that your computer did not pass Windows Genuine Advantage (WGA) Validation. In most cases, this usually means your copy of Windows Vista was obtained illegally, or used a key that was reported as a pirated key. Visit http://www.microsoft.com/genuine for more information on how to resolve this issue. Also make sure you have installed Vista's Service Pack 1 (SP1) and other updates. If your copy of Vista was installed from the manufacturer, contact the manufacturer of your laptop. They should be able to help you through this. You can also call Microsoft, explain to them the situation, and may send you a genuine copy in exchange for your ingenuine one.

Good Luck. Hope this helps. Email me for more assistance.

First of all:
Where did you get your copy of youroperating system? Did you buy it or was it shipped with your laptop? Should the latter be the case, then make shure you have installed the windows vista service pack 1, as some OEM keys are only recognized as legit if you have the SP1 installed. If this doesn't work for you, call microsoft and tell them whee and how you got your Vista copy. Maybe they'll ship you nother one in exchange for your old copy.

This normally indicates that the operating system is an illegal copy. If it is a legitimate copy that was supplied with the machine, or a copy you bought from a store, contact Microsoft. If it turns out to be an illegal copy and you have proof of purchase they will normally provide you a new copy, if it is legal they will fix it.
