help with laptop and virus/program?

Question by curiousx3: help with laptop and virus/program?
hi, i have two questions and one is
ive had the HP pavillion zv6000 for about 4 years
how much longer do you think my laptop will last if ive only been using it at home and dropped it about 4ish times?
it hasnt had a serious virus or anything
but i just wanted to know how much longer until i would have to buy another one

also
i have this constant pop up from the Security Center Alert about a program/software/virus named win32.zafi.b
and when i click enable protection, it pops up a page where i can download some type of protection
what is it and how can i get rid of it?

I don’t know about the laptop question, but it sounds like you caught the SmitFraud virus. Antivirus 360, Spyware Guard 2008, Antivirus 2009 and many similar sounding programs are versions of the smitfraud virus. Most popular AntiVirus programs have trouble with it. There is a specific tool to address this problem. You can run it in scan mode first to make sure that this is the problem.

Go to this link:

Download smitfraudfix.exe
Run it in safe mode in a command prompt window.
Don’t ever click on a popup “antivirus warning” unless the name of a program you have already installed is in the title area a the top of the window.

Command Prompt
Start > Run
type command
click enter
or
Start > Programs > Accessories > Command Prompt

Drag the file icon into the Command Prompt window. The entire file path should appear.
Hit enter to run.

Safe mode
Restart the machine.
Press F8 before the Windows StartUp screen appears.
The boot choices menu should appear.
Press the number for the safe mode option.

    NOD32 is the best software, keep away from non-mainstream programs, most of them suck

    download the free “malwarebytes” program and scan.

    google win32.zafi.b to find a fix your anti virus should remove it.don’t I repeat do not open it or let which every program it says to use to fix it it is one of those virus that you buy for XX.XX it remove something that they made to sell you something that you shouldn’t have been sent it the first place.kinda like I broke your computer but if you pay me I’ll fix it.
    Also your computer will last till your break it don’t drop it and it will live a long time.
