Laptop issues. Virus or hardware?
Question by CallMeCrazy: Laptop issues. Virus or hardware?
So ive had my HP g60 (235dx i believe) for about 2 1/2 years and starting around the beginning of the semester ive been having major problems with it. Every day without fail it will just randomly turn to a blue screen and say a bunch of stuff that i never have enough time to read but it says something about crash dump. blah blah blah. Then immediately after it will go to a black screen and say no bootable devices. insert disk and press any key to continue. So i have to shut it down again and restart and its usually good for a while. Lately its been happening at least twice a day now. And just a little while ago i got a new message after all this. Black screen again saying something about file C and not being consistent or something. I have mcafee which we get for free through our internet provider. I also have malwarebytes anit malware and scanned it and it found nothing. Im currently scanning with avast. Its getting frustrating and i asked my boyfriend for a new laptop for christmas but if it is a virus, i would like to prevent it in the future. It kindof sucks when you have an antivirus but its basically useless. Any idea what is wrong? and what should I do as far as antivirus programs to prevent this in the future? Any tips or advice is welcome.

Sounds like the hard drive has errors on it, or its starting to die
