Question by M-Empire: laptop virus wont go away!?
My laptop i think is infected with a spyware, each time i try doing a full scan with mcafee it freezes when it gets to that file.
I have tried installing other spyware removal programs like superspyware an others, an still no luck.
Im really stuck, what do i do?

Do not Type in Google “Free Scan or anything like that…..Because it will just harm your computer more….
Try to get Norton Antivirus…I believe it Costs though..i am telling you now though, if you go to a random website, and let them scan your computer, it will just mess it up much more.
Try downloading Ad-ware, and AVG seems to work for me. They are both free to download.
Install gentoo.
1. Dump McAfee, it sucks.
2. Download and scan your computer with AVG Free.

i think yuo should look in a directory book to find a person who deals with this kind of stuff, they charge around £50 to have a look and whatever else to fix the problem, a bit expensive but proves successful, and then just download some other stuff with mcafee internet secrity.

you can buy windows recovery disks, it will format your computer, ut will get rid if ALL your documents though, unless you have a connection wire to transfer it to another compter, or do you have an external hard-drive to save it on? then format your lap top, and it works, the external hard-drives are about £60.00 and the disks i dont really know, sorry
Try using the top 10 anti virus’ free installers that can be download online, I suggest you use kaspersky, avira, avg, or avast. they need to be always up to date at least once a week to be in good condition. All anti virus are recommended to be up to dated at least once a week. maybe your mcafee is not up to date.
You have multiple options available to your right now.
Option 1: the most drastic but guaranteed to work. Perform a clean install of the operating system. Everything will be gone, along with the virus. However, this requires a lot of backing up of data and patience.
Option 2: Download quality free anti-virus/spyware/adware programs. I recommend AVG Free, Spybot Search and Destroy, Malwarebytes Anti-Malware, Ad-Aware, and if you are using Windows Vista then might as well throw in Windows Defender (built in to Vista). I have listed so many options because some might only get some of the infections while leaving others behind. This route is not guaranteed to remove everything but is recommended.
